Wolfpack had a tough task ahead of it, coming up against a side who went undefeated through the regular season.
In cold conditions, Wolfpack set about its business, scoring through Ivy Higgins, who ran over the line for a try before converting a two-point goal.
But it wasn't enough to counter Tumbarumba’s dominance with Lily Murphy hard to stop, scoring two tries, while Chelsea Jarvis showed why she’s the best kicker in the league, converting twice to take her season total to 53 — 34 ahead of her next rival.
The result sees Benalla's season come to an end, while Tumbarumba is set to take on CSU Mud Dogs — to whom it lost in the semi-final — in the grand final this weekend.
The Wolfpack women had earlier progressed through to the preliminary final after triumphing over Murray River Warriors in the first semi-final, 32-6.
Both the Jo Perini Memorial Murray Cup, as well as the Scott Hargrave Clinic Murray Cup, will be decided this Sunday at Greenfield Park in Albury, with the women first to kick off at 1pm. Entry is $10 per person at the gate.
