The Black Knights drew first blood at Campbelltown Stadium thanks to Lachie Brook's 41st-minute strike, before Uskok levelled the scores for the hosts in the 70th minute.
Bulls substitute Liam Rose had delivered a cross to Callum Talbot, who leaped to pull off a clinical cutback for Uskok's first goal of the season.
But Uskok won't be available for Saturday's clash against Sydney FC after earning his fifth yellow card of the season for a foul against Auckland striker Sam Cosgrove in the 87th minute.
Mile Sterjovski's side would have surged to the top of the table with a win, but at least moved to third (5-4-3) after extending their undefeated streak to six matches.
"It's an interesting one. We were non-existent in the first half, maybe gave Auckland too much respect," Sterjovski said.
"We were a different team in the second half. A lot more positive, a lot more brave and created quite a few chances."
Auckland remain in pole position (6-3-2), two points ahead of next-best Sydney FC following their rescheduled round-17 fixture on Monday night.
The match was moved after Macarthur reached the final 16 in the ACL2, booking a meeting with True Bangkok United FC on February 12.
Last year's premiers Auckland, seeking redemption after a shock 3-1 loss to 10-man Newcastle on New Year's day, at least avoided unwanted club history.
Steve Corica's men have remarkably not lost two games in a row since joining the competition last season.
"We've got a good bunch of boys - a really good team last year that won the premiership in the first year," Corica said.
"We're trying to build from that. Hopefully, that will work out in the end for us by the end of the season, and hopefully win us more trophies."
Auckland found the opener thanks to exceptional defending from former Central Coast treble-winning player Dan Hall.
Bulls midfielder Sime Grzan had looked poised to break the deadlock first after captain Luke Brattan brilliantly sliced the ball through the pack.
But Grzan could not shake off Hall, who matched the Bulls player in speed and skill.
Grzan lost his footing under pressure and Hall pounced on the ball to kickstart the counterattack for Brook's goal.
Brook should have scored again in the second half after Jesse Randall delivered a brilliant cutback to lure goalkeeper Filip Kurto off his line.
But Brook lacked control with his first touch and sent the ball into the post in the 53rd minute.
An in-form Harry Sawyer had the best chance of scoring for Macarthur in the first half and was denied from the tightest of angles in the 35th minute by keeper Michael Woud.
