Goals either side of halftime from Hong Song-Ok and another for Kim Kyong-Yong - all headers from crosses - ensured they punched their ticket in the Gold Coast play-in contest on Thursday night.
Song-Ok completed her hat-trick in the 68th minute, tidying up the rebound after Ri Myong-Gum had weaved along the baseline and hit the post with her clever effort.
It was something for the three-time tournament champions to celebrate after they had pushed the Matildas, and controlled vast passages of play, last Friday only to fall 2-1 after two costly defensive lapses.
This result seemed inevitable though, with Taiwan unable to string passes together and North Korea camping deep in their attack and peppering Taiwan goalkeeper Cheng Ssu-yu.
They had almost 40 shots on goal in total, completing 324 passes alone in the first half to Taiwan's 112 and holding the ball for almost 80 per cent of the contest.
Next year's showpiece in Brazil will be North Korea's first appearance since five players tested positive at the 2011 event for prohibited substances and the country was banned from the 2015 edition.
That setback contributed to them not qualifying in 2019, before the restrictions on travel due to COVID-19 forced them to withdraw from the co-hosted Australia and New Zealand 2023 edition.
Their win was the second of a Gold Coast double-header that began with the Philippines, coached by Australian Mark Torcaso, booking their World Cup berth with a 2-0 defeat of Uzbekistan.
