Benalla Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a fast food restaurant in Benalla on Saturday February 9.

According to a Victoria Police spokesperson, two male offenders entered the restaurant in Bridge St, Benalla and threatened two staff members with a knife, forcing them out of the store before stealing a large amount of cash and fleeing at about 8.45pm.
"The victims contacted triple zero immediately and police attended within minutes to search for the offenders," the spokesperson said.
The offenders had their faces covered but are believed to be Caucasian and between 16 and 25 years old.
"Police seized an item nearby which they believe the offenders used in connection with the robbery. It will be examined for forensic evidence," the spokesperson said.
Investigators would like the person who located the item to make contact with them via Crime Stoppers.
They are also keen to hear from anyone in the Benalla community who has information who car camera footage from the Benalla CBD shortly before or after the armed robbery and request they call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
