Probe continues

THE Local Government Inspectorate’s investigation into a Campaspe Shire councillor remains ongoing.

LGI confirmed it was looking into a complaint relating to a councillor in February.

This week LGI acting chief municipal inspector Ross Millard said the investigation was still in progress and ‘‘the Inspectorate does not comment on investigations or assessments that are yet to be concluded’’.

LGI accepts complaints relating to breaches of the Local Government Act 1989.

The Inspectorate may investigate any matter relating to council operations and breaches of the Act involving a councillor, a senior council officer and any individual subject to the conflict of interest provisions within the Act; or any individual where the matter relates to electoral provisions.
