Mr Archer spends hours on the road every week, collecting all types of batteries from around the Goulburn Valley, including Shepparton.
Since 2010, Mr Archer has raised over $650,000, which has supported various charities, the biggest being GV Health and the ‘Give Me 5 For Kids’ campaign.
Unfortunately, Mr Archer's ute and trailer can only carry small batteries, with many going uncollected.
Mr Archer is asking for the public's help in getting a truck to carry six tonnes of batteries.
“I need the truck to collect more batteries to help and give back to the community,” he said.
The Stanhope hotel will be hosting a family fundraiser day for Mr Archer on Sunday, October 23 from 12:30pm to raise money for the much-needed truck.
Mr Archer said the inspiration for his work was his love for the country and a desire to help children in need.
Stanhope hotel licensee Mandy Goddard said staff were excited about the upcoming event and were hoping for a large crowd.
“We are really excited for the event, and hopefully we have an overall crowd of 500 to 750 people throughout the day,” Ms Goddard said.

Money from sales from a specialised menu titled 'Archer's Menu' will go to the cause.
“We will offer a specialised menu called Archer's Menu, which will sell Archer's favourite meals,” Ms Goddard said.
