Rochester’s Christopher Jansen.
A week after setting a new Goulburn Valley League season-high with 42 disposals against Benalla, the Tigers midfielder has broken his own benchmark after collecting an incredible 48 touches against Tatura last weekend.
Jansen had an absolute field day against the Bulldogs — he had 31 kicks and 17 handballs as well as five goals in a dominant display.
On top of that, he had 16 marks, eight clearances and 15 groundball gets as Rochester claimed an emphatic 119-point win over the struggling Bulldogs.
Jansen’s kick, mark, handball and goal totals were all game-highs at Moon Oval on Saturday, while he also lead the Tigers in clearances and contested possessions.
It was the second big game in as many weeks for Jansen, who has tallied an incredible 90 disposals in his past two games.
His outing against Benalla was fantastic in its own right — 18 kicks, 24 handballs and 15 clearances — but Jansen outdid himself a week later, setting a new season-high for disposals across the GVL.
It’s been a fantastic season for the Tigers’ midfielder so far.
He is averaging more than 30 disposals in his 13 games played this season, and he leads Rochester in possessions, kicks, handballs, clearances, inside 50s, groundball gets and contested possessions.
He is yet to have a game this season with fewer than 20 touches, and he now has 40 or more touches on three occasions this season — round four against Shepparton United, round 14 against Benalla and now last weekend against Tatura.
