Exploring the third dimension in art

Eyecatching: Vases and Ginger Jars by Lynne Hume.

Splinter Contemporary Artists has a new exhibition opening in its gallery at the Kyabram Town Hall where artists explore their concept of a third dimension.

This diverse and colourful exhibition expands on one of the leading physics models of the past half century, which suggests the universe operates with 10 dimensions but the world, as we know it, has three dimensions of space: length, width and depth.

Your move: Chess Set by Kathryn Carroll.

A third dimension adds solidity to a two-dimensional system, which is what the artists tackled.

The exhibition will be on show at the Kyabram Town Hall from August 4 to November 6.

Many faces: Between by Chris Hartley.
Shimmer: Nature’s Wonder by Lynton Targett.
Circle work: A Bit Bent by Lynton Targett.
