A park in the new North Quarter Estate off Verney Rd in Shepparton will be named after the Roche family, which previously farmed the land.

Parish plans show that the Roche family previously occupied the land, and the developers of the estate sought to retain this history within the subdivision.
Cr Greg James said the name had been assessed in accordance with Naming rules for places in Victoria 2016 and there were no objections when the proposed name was advertised.
Councillors unanimously supported the use of the name Roche Park at the July meeting of Greater Shepparton City Council.
