The Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre is calling on the Goulburn Valley community to help find a piano.
The centre has a 100-year-old piano that was out of tune and too old to be serviced and volunteers were searching for a piano in good working order to replace it.
“We’ve been seeing an increase in interest towards the piano and have had calls to hold a concert, but can’t do so with our current piano,” MEAC volunteer Jacqui Kiss said.
“We tried to get our current piano serviced but because of its age, it wasn’t going to be possible.”
MEAC was hoping someone in the community might be looking to part ways with their piano and would be interested in donating it.
“Hopefully there is someone that is moving house, or is clearing out their house, and is wanting to get rid of their piano and might consider donating it to us so our visitors can give it a second life,” Ms Kiss said.
The centre welcomed more than 100 community members each week, with a range of different activities and classes available.
Anyone who could help should contact Ms Kiss at the Mooroopna Education and Activity Centre on on 5825 1774.
