Councillor Jenny O’Connor has resigned from Indigo Shire Council due to personal reasons.

Given her resignation is effective immediate the Victorian Electoral Commission will hold a countback, looking at former preferences before another elected representative is chosen to fill the vacancy.
Indigo Shire Mayor Bernard Gaffney congratulated Cr O’Connor for her contribution during her time as a councillor.
“Jenny O’Connor was a councillor with Indigo Shire for 10 years. Four of those she was elected Mayor and led council through some very difficult times including the Black Saturday bushfires,” he said.
“She was hardworking, dedicated and well respected by many people in the shire and she will be missed. I wish her and her family all the best for the future.”
