On Saturday, March 19, the Elmore Events Centre will return to its roots and play host to a tractor pull with the help of St Joseph’s Primary School Rochester and the Elmore Field Days committee.
The event sees a modified tractor pull a weighted sled along a 11-metre wide, 100-metre long dirt track.
As the tractor pulls the sled along the track, more weight is added, making the track harder to complete.
Only when the tractor crosses the finish line is it called a ‘full pull’.
Tractor pulling is known as one of the most powerful motor sports, due to some tractors in the event having more than one engine, and some vehicles being over 1000 horsepower.
The first Australian modified tractor pull was held at the Elmore Field Days in 1976, and in 2022 the Elmore Events Centre is excited to be bringing the tractor pull back to where it all began.
Gates will be opening at 3pm for a 4pm start.
Tickets for people aged over 15 are $25, children’s tickets are $5, and children under the age of five are free. Family tickets (two adults, two children) are available for $50.
