Mitchell Shire Council has closed Highlands Rd following further deterioration caused by significant rainfall earlier this month.

The road has been closed in both directions between Lades Rd and Ghin Ghin Rd, near the Murrindindi Shire boundary.
Council had been working to keep the road open, with one lane operating while contractors and staff carried out repairs to a damaged culvert.
However, conditions deteriorated further, making it unsafe for vehicles to pass.
Residents travelling between Seymour and Ghin Ghin will need to use alternative routes via Dropmore Rd and Caveat-Dropmore Rd while the closure remains in place.
Drivers are asked to obey all road closure signs and avoid the area where possible.
