Five Rochester Show exhibitors took their creations to the Goulburn Valley Riverina Shows Association finals over the weekend for judging and the chance to advance to the Melbourne Royal Show.

Mandy Dingwall achieved the standout result of the competition, taking first place with her carrot cake, securing her a spot as the region’s representative for the prestigious Melbourne Royal Show.
Several other Rochester entrants also earned strong placings.

Caleb Kraan secured second place in the junior VAS photography section with his architecture shots, while Margy Phipps claimed second with her machine‑made tote bag made of recycled fabric.
Judith White added to Rochester’s success with a second place for her mustard pickles in the GVRSA competition.
Although not placed this year, Ian Jasper’s senior VAS photography entry and Olivia O’Sullivan’s junior boiled fruit cake entry were both of an exceptionally high standard and were commended for their efforts.
The results highlight the depth of skill and creativity within the Rochester community, with competitors continuing to shine on the regional stage.
