“Securing funding for this project will bring first-class cancer care closer to home,” Ms De Paola said.
“At the heart of this campaign, and all our fundraising efforts, is a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare locally, ensuring dignity, compassion and support for every patient.”
Ms De Paola has more than two decades of local communications and community engagement experience in the health sector behind her, particularly committed to the not-for-profit community as a passionate advocate for young people and families in the Goulburn Valley.
She previously served as Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project’s communications co-ordinator, playing a key role in building partnerships and advancing equity, education and long-term community prosperity-focused initiatives.
Before her Lighthouse role, Ms De Paola spent close to 20 years as Goulburn Valley Grammar School’s communications co-ordinator, where she was responsible for connecting the school community through numerous publications and engagement.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she established Food Link, a relief meals program, raising more than $100,000 to support food agencies, schools and community groups with meals and helping to provide support and connection to isolated community members through 2020 and 2021.
Ms De Paola is also a member of Shepparton Central Rotary Club, a volunteer at the Biggest Ever Blokes Lunch event and co-chair of the Ladies Who Lunch committee.
In her new health-focused role, she will lead fundraising and philanthropic engagement to support GV Health’s services and future growth.
Ms De Paola said she was honoured to take on the position.
“I am deeply committed to the Goulburn Valley and believe in the strength and potential of our community,” she said.
“Having lived in Shepparton for most of my life, I have a strong understanding of our community and its long-standing generosity.
“My immediate priority in this new role is the Integrated Cancer Centre fundraising campaign. Securing funding for this project will bring first-class cancer care closer to home.”
Ms De Paola said at the heart of the campaign, and all of the foundation’s fundraising efforts, was a commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare locally, ensuring dignity, compassion and support for every patient.
“I look forward to working alongside our donors, partners and stakeholders to continue strengthening a culture of giving that makes a genuine difference across our region,” she said.
GV Health Foundation chair Stephen Merrylees welcomed the appointment.
“Amy has already shown her deep commitment to the GV Health Foundation through her wonderful work helping to bring the annual Ladies Who Lunch fundraising event to life,” he said.
“She is deeply connected to our community and brings a genuine warmth, generosity of spirit and passion for making a difference.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome her into this role and look forward to seeing her build on the incredible support our community shows for GV Health.”
