Both Notre Dame Central Park-St Brendan’s and Karramomus were hoping to hear the three words ‘your under-16 premiers’ on Sunday, but instead they got three words of a different variation - see you Monday.

The Tigers and Bloods will have to wait a week and a day to finish determining the premiers of Cricket Shepparton’s under-16s competition, after a wash out on Sunday afternoon forced an early stumps.
It may be NDCPStB that laments the rain the most, with a side of talented Tiger cubs just about holding one hand on the cup after a level-headed innings with the bat in the high-pressure decider.
The Tigers elected to bat after winning the toss, and Gus Byrne and Nate Yze got to work, with the opener and first drop bat both raising the willow in their time at the crease, Byrne retiring at 60 while Yze reaching 55 before being run out.
The only major miscalculation for NDCPstB at the crease was its running between wickets, with Karramomus’ pressure in the field causing three run outs, half of the scalps taken across its 45 overs in the field.
Austen Hogeboom rocketed to 37 not out off 31 balls to push the Tigers’ score beyond 200, the yellow and black finishing at 6-229.

Then, it was Karramomus’ turn to pad up - but the Bloods were dealt with drizzle.
Callum Thornton mistimed a Ryder Dudgeon delivery to go out for three caught and bowled, but skipper and vice-captain Toby Keady and Jackson Crouch were poised despite the downpour.
After 19 overs though, umpires convened and the rain was said to be too harsh on Mooroopna Recreation Reserve, calling the day’s play to an end.
While the run rate sits below par as it stands, Karramomus will be happy to have nearly a full team in the sheds when it gets 26 overs to charge towards a flag on Monday, March 9, Cricket Shepparton scheduling the match on the Labour Day public holiday.
Play will resume at 3pm, Karramomus requiring 170 runs for victory on a day, at this stage, anticipated to have clear skies.
