Greater Shepparton City Council has announced upgrade works to the pedestrian crossing at the south end of Marungi St, outside the Shepparton Library, beginning Friday, February 27.
The project will convert the existing crossing into a raised wombat crossing, along with kerb and footpath realignment, drainage alterations, asphalt works and new line marking.
Crossing signals will remain unchanged.
Works are expected to be completed by Friday, March 20, weather permitting.
Council is working closely with contractors to minimise disruption, with traffic management in place throughout the project.
Access to the Shepparton Library, council offices, Riverlinks and nearby car parks will be maintained, though minor delays may occur.
Pedestrians are encouraged to use the alternative crossing at the Marungi St and Nixon St roundabout and follow all signage.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to take extra care in the area during the works.
