From noon to 6pm, the Kialla venue’s beer garden will host a live music showcase, sausage sizzle and auction, all supporting those impacted by recent bushfires.
Five Goulburn Valley bands will take to the stage, including Skuzz, The Wildlings, Lachy, JB + Me, Briana Lee and Darkshine Daisy, with local musicians Stevie Renee and Todd van Kerkhof having helped spark the idea at band practice.
“We were talking about how we could help those affected by the fires, and this just felt right,” Peppermill Inn general manager Todd van Kerkhof said.
“It’ll be a great afternoon — we’re hoping families and friends will pop down for an hour or two and donate to this cause.”
The day will feature a live auction run by Paul Durden, with organisers aiming to raise between $10,000 and $20,000 in auctionable items.
Prizes already include sports memorabilia, booze, kitchenware, outdoor settings and a $1000 travel voucher.
The GV Giants footballers will host a sausage sizzle, with every dollar going towards the day’s total, while representatives from the CFA and the Longwood community will attend and speak about the challenges they’re facing after the fires.
Donations for the auction can be dropped off at the Peppermill Inn right up until 4pm Sunday.
The Peppermill, a long-time supporter of the Longwood Football Club, is calling on the community to rally once again.
