A Doug Messer-led Mooroopna claimed the first rink 22 shots to 16, but Seymour would respond with 23-13 and 19-14 rink wins across the next two.
Mooroopna blazed home strong with a 24-19 shot win in the fourth rink, but it was not enough to eclipse Seymour, which won 14-77 to 4-73.
However, despite Seymour VRI claiming a second win of the season, the club still does not have enough points to elevate from last place, remaining four points behind the one-win Mooroopna outfit, which sits squared away in seventh on the division one table.
Across the rinks, Tatura-Hill Top was defeated by Euroa on Saturday, 4-71 to 14-87, despite narrowly leading after three rinks had been played.
A dominant 34-14 fourth rink in favour of Euroa determined the end result and ended Tatura-Hill Top’s chances at a stunning upset over a top four outfit.
Meanwhile, East Shepparton has gone all the way to causing a boilover, defeating third-placed Shepparton Park 14-67 to 4-63, while Tallygaroopna continued its undefeated season in a top-of-the-table clash against Shepparton Golf on Thursday, winning 15-98 to 3-64.
