Another musical marvel for Girgarre

Each sound sculpture, made from repurposed agricultural objects, tells a different story about local creativity and craftsmanship.

Visitors can now discover 12 unique instrumental sculptures along the trail and scan interactive QR codes to listen and learn while exploring.

“It’s a simple way that a little community can use their skills to create something that’s totally unique,” Girgarre Town Development committee chair Jan Smith said.

Jan said one of the newest additions along the trail made the sound of frogs croaking in the area.

“It’s beautiful,” she said.

Unveiling new musical additions to the trail wasn’t the only highlight of this special community celebration.

“It gives me great pleasure that we should name or honour Jan with this Girgarre sound trail being the Jan Smith sound trail,” Girgarre Town Development vice president Greg Fitzpatrick said.

“It’s a beautiful gesture from the community,” Jan said.
