Greater Shepparton City Council has removed the blue-green algae warning for Lake Bartlett in Tatura after a significant decline in algae levels.
The warning was originally issued on December 19, 2025, and improved water quality has now allowed it to be lifted.
However, residents and water users are encouraged to remain alert, as isolated patches of blue-green algae may still be present in local lakes, waterways and irrigation systems.
Any suspected blooms can be reported to council at 5826 3785.
Council reminds the community that untreated water is not suitable for human use, including drinking, cooking, bathing or washing.
Regular water quality monitoring will continue throughout the year, with updates provided if conditions change.
