Designed for all ages and skill levels, this lively fishing competition on Friday, January 23, from 4pm to 9pm, promises plenty of action both on and off the water.
Participants will have the chance to win prizes across a range of categories, including Tagged Fish, Biggest Catch, Young Angler, Mystery Weight and Lucky Spot.
Whether you’re a seasoned angler or trying fishing for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Beyond the competition, the lakeside will come alive with food trucks, trade stalls, live entertainment and giveaways, making it the perfect way to spend a summer evening with family and friends.
Kids can enjoy free hands-on activities such as wooden craft painting workshops, giant games and face painting with Enchanted Rainbow.
A mouth-watering line-up of food trucks will keep everyone satisfied, featuring Elephant Rock Calamari, Nana Marce, Twisted Sis, Shepparton Rotary Club BBQ, Mr Sheppy’s ice-cream, Coffee Shots, Slushie Squad and Jam Packed Coffee and Donuts.
Local musician Jessica Lorraine will set the mood with live music, while Goulburn Valley Water’s water café will help keep attendees cool and refreshed.
Mayor Shane Sali said the event was about more than fishing.
“Hooked on Shepparton is a celebration of our community and a great chance to enjoy the beautiful Victoria Park Lake. Grab your fishing rods and bring your best attitude,” he said.
Hooked on Shepparton is a free, alcohol-free event.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear, sun protection and seating. Limited fishing rods will be available for children.
A recreational fishing licence is required, with exemptions applying.
Registrations are now open via TryBooking or at shepp.city/hos.
This event is proudly presented by Greater Shepparton City Council with funding from the Victorian Fisheries Authority.
