The Shepparton product is set to proudly don the iconic Big V strip after being named in Victoria’s AFL Origin squad ahead of the one-off game on February 14.
With the AFL reintroducing a state of origin game for the first time since 1999, GWS star Ash was announced as a member of the Victorian side that will take on Western Australia after earning All-Australian squad honours in 2025, a season where Ash developed into a high-usage half back flanker averaging 27.9 disposals and 543 metres gained per game.
The damaging defender raised out in Katandra represented Victoria Country in his draft year, and will get the opportunity to wear navy blue and white again at Optus Stadium in Perth as the AFL relaunches the Origin product.

Ash will suit up alongside the likes of Nick Daicos, Jeremy Cameron and Marcus Bontempelli for Victoria, as well as teammate Toby Greene.
Two other Giants will feature for Western Australia - 2024 Coleman Medallist Jesse Hogan and All-Australian key defender Sam Taylor.
Giants football boss Jason McCartney was thrilled with the 24-year-old’s inclusion in the squad.
“Lachie had a fantastic season, and it’s exciting to see him rewarded with the chance to play State of Origin footy,” McCartney said.
“Over the last couple of seasons, Lachie has continued to work on his game and each year he’s become a better player and really established himself as a key part of our side.
“To have Lachie join Toby Greene, Sam Taylor, and Jesse Hogan as Giants representatives in the Origin game is a huge honour and something I’m sure they’re all very proud of.”
The AFL Origin game between Victoria and Western Australia begins at 7.40pm on Saturday, February 14.
