To better understand community concerns, the council has launched a survey that aims to generate feedback on budget priorities.
The survey asks residents to allocate a hypothetical $100 across the council’s services, and for feedback on its financial plan and the challenges facing the region today.
The feedback will guide the council’s priorities and ensure resources are distributed appropriately to meet ratepayers’ needs.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said now was the ideal time for residents to speak up.
“We’re inviting the community to share their ideas and priorities for the upcoming financial year,” he said.
“Whether it’s support for a specific project, improvements to local infrastructure, or funding for key programs, your feedback matters and will help shape what gets delivered across the region.”
Survey respondents can opt to leave their contact details to have a council staff member contact them about their submission.
The final budget will be shown to council prior to the end of June for endorsement, and further public consultation will be undertaken beforehand, including on fees and charges.
To lodge a pre-budget submission, visit campaspe.vic.gov.au/nowopen and complete the online form, or request a hard copy from the council’s customer service team.
Submissions can be lodged until 5pm Friday, February 6.
