The 14-strong men’s squad is bound for South Australia from January 2-11 to face off against other state country cricket organisation’s, and it’s a squad with a distinct Cricket Shepparton flavour.
Haisman Shield run-leader Kyle Mueller is back for a third campaign, while Central Park-St Brendan’s captain Tyler Larkin will don the Big V as well.
Waaia paceman Jesse Trower has also been selected as the VCCL look to retain the ACCC championship from earlier this year.
Victoria has gained valuable selection insights from their 50-over exhibition clash against the Victorian Sub-District Cricket Association on December 14.
The VCCL came out on top by two wickets at Port Melbourne Cricket Ground, chasing down the VSDCA’s 196 with three overs to spare.
Trower chipped in with the ball, breaking an important partnership and ending with figures of 1-31 from his seven overs.
Larkin opened the batting but fell for six, while Mueller contributed 14 to the run chase.
Meanwhile, the women’s squad will also contain some Cricket Shepparton influence.
In-form Nagambie duo Madi Albers and Kayla Shepherd will make the trip to South Australia alongside Echuca’s Grace Moyle.
