Ben Mildren achieved a Band 6 in music under the guidance of teacher Matt Kiley, while Ava Robinson excelled with Band 6 results in Advanced English, PDHPE, and Community and Family Studies.
Ava also recorded the school’s highest ATAR of 90.5, earning her 2025 Dux, and will go on to study a Bachelor of Psychology at La Trobe University in Bendigo.
“Thanks to all the teachers and the effort they put in to keep us going,” she said.
Chelsea Weir earned a Band 6 in PDHPE with the support of teacher Brenda Norman, and achieved an ATAR of 86.5.
Chelsea will continue her studies in occupational therapy at Deakin University in Geelong.
“Being regional doesn’t stop you from achieving high,” she said.
Erica Hayes recorded a Band 6 in investigating science, taught by Karen Dalzell.
Teachers and staff praised the students’ commitment, with Robyn Kiley noting “the knowledge and experience of our staff is some of the best in our region”.
Deniliquin High currently has six HSC markers among its staff — more than any other school in the region.
“While we’ve had this devastating fire, bricks and mortar don’t make a school; the people and their experience does,” Mrs Kiley said.
Mr Kiley said the results reflected the dedication of both staff and students
“The commitment from staff and students really shows.”
Principal Glen Warren expressed pride in the achievements saying he is “very proud of the kids, and the staff that went above and beyond”.
