Lakers opener and competition run-scorer Kayla Shepherd added 35 more runs to her tally of 288 - which is also her average for the season - in the round eight clash against Shepparton Youth Club United, supported well by Madi Albers with 28.
Sandy Ezard and 14-run contributions from Amber Langham and Kait Carracher down the order set up a tidy total from their 20 overs, though Mel Saunders and Hayley Williamson’s two wickets apiece helped restrict Nagambie to 5-133.
But the Lakers were more than up for the challenge with the ball.
Albers claimed 2-5 and Ezard 2-4 in a clinical display with the Kookaburra, and despite Lia Beecroft leading up top for SYCU with 31 not out, the visitors couldn’t crack the unbeaten Lakers, finishing on 5-63.
It’s Nagambie’s seventh win on the spin this season, but finishing the year with a bang - and subsequently in second place - was Mooroopna, which picked up a 10-wicket win in round eight.
Hosting Kyabram, the Cats bowlers led by Poppy Vandermeer and Mia Earl bowled tight areas to restrict their opponents, but Rebecca Bowles (25) and Mel Parsons (17) saw the Redbacks tick along to a score of 3-73.
It took just 11 overs for Mooroopna to track down the total as Ebony Sleeth compiled a brisk 36 off 30 deliveries, while Vandermeer showcased her craft with the bat as well by contributing 26.
