Cobram CFA captain Matt Dehne has been a member of the brigade since 2013 and said they have been taking Santa around in the fire truck since before he started.
Mr Dehne said it was a great way to give back to the community and get into the Christmas spirit.
“We're here to serve the community, and it's just something we like to do for the town's people ... and just to see all the kids, they love seeing Santa on the truck and getting lollies, and it's a good chance for them to get a photo with Santa.
“We also get a couple of donations from community members, it could either be cash donations, or they might give us a hamper, so it is really, really rewarding for our members as well.”
The Cobram CFA has 38 members, but it is looking for more and encourages anyone who is interested to inquire on the CFA website.
Mr Denhe said he was grateful for the friendships formed and the positive impact the brigade had on the community and those in need.
“I just enjoy the mateship, you know all of us get along really well here in the brigade, we have social events where we all catch up outside as well,” he said.
“But the most rewarding part of it is if we can make someone's worst day in their life a little bit easier.”
