But make no mistake - the field is still wide open in division one.
Tallygaroopna’s efforts to break into fourth spot were rebuffed by a determined Euroa, the Magpies rediscovering their mojo in a 14-70 to 2-53 defeat of the Redlegs.
Ken Sutcliffe’s Euroa quartet set the tone with a 16-shot first-rink routing before Shane Holmes clinched the second by two for the Harling Shield’s rising force.
Tally stole the third rink by a single shot thanks to Mark Ryan’s four but, nonetheless, honours belonged to a Euroa team that has won three of their past four games and gone a game clear in third spot.
The biggest statement of the round, however, was made by Seymour.
Hosting the undefeated Shepparton Golf, Seymour sprung the biggest upset of the 2025-26 season by handing the Golfers their first loss of the season.
Golf got a rink up through in the Kris Wright-skipped first stanza, but the one shot triumph was out-stripped by Seymour skip Alison Hall’s quartet to the tune of 16-14 in the next.
Max Hammond, Rob Baldwin, Dot Dillon, and Russ Locke delivered the killing blow, victorious by seven shots in the third rink to deliver a statement 14-55 to 2-47 win over the ladder leaders and consolidate their spot in fourth.
Elsewhere, Shepparton Park defeated a gallant East Shepparton 12-57 to 4-55, while Seymour VRI’s 12-shot win against Tatura Hill Top ensured they keep pace with the division one pacesetters.
