Tumbling, flipping, and gliding through the air will be the order of business this weekend at the Jets Gymnastics Annual Showcase, with the Visy Stadium facility on Parkside Dve set to host the event for the first time.
Hundreds of athletes will converge on Shepparton to show off their skills in “high-energy gymnastics” and “dance routines,” the culmination of hours upon hours of work for these gym-faring youngsters.
Squad representatives will perform routines based around the popular dance movie Step Up, and Jets Gymnastics centre manager Giles Pritchard said it will be an exciting celebration of the kids’ abilities.
“It is the first time we've held a showcase event in Shepparton,” Pritchard said.
“We’ll have about 200 gymnasts from around Victoria in attendance, and they'll be displaying their gymnast skills in performance.
“The routines collectively will sort of follow the story of the movie Step Up.
“But really, the showcase is all about celebrating and showing off the skills of our squad gymnasts; there will be lots of gymnastic skills on display, floor tumbles, flips, all that sort of stuff.”
The action kicks off at 2pm and runs until 3:30pm at Visy Stadium, with tickets and further information available via the Jets’ website.
