Kyabram’s St Vincent De Paul and the Tattslotto Toy Shop have joined forces again this year to help provide less fortunate local kids with presents for Christmas.
In a report commissioned by Vinnie’s Australia, almost half of Australian families (49 per cent) were worried that they wouldn’t be able to put food on the table this Christmas.
With families forced to choose essentials over gifts, Kyabram’s very own Santa, Miles Gould, has stepped up to ease the burden on struggling parents.
Through donations to Kyabram Tattslotto this November, Mr Gould personally selects appropriate gifts for each child identified by the Vinnie's team.
He has also committed to matching any donations handed into the Tattslotto Toy Shop.
“I will match whatever money gets donated — if you donate $50, I’ll make that $100,” he said.
Last year's partnership between Vinnies and Tattslotto brought Christmas joy to 59 children across 23 families, ensuring every child experienced the magic of Christmas morning.
Vinnies Kyabram coordinator Nola Livsey said the charity had a list of families who needed support over the holiday season, which would then get passed to Mr Gould, who would pick out gifts specific to the profile of each child.
“What Miles says goes — he is the toy man,” Mrs Livsey said.
Help create Christmas magic for children by donating at Tattslotto Toy Shop on Allan St before the Friday, December 5 deadline.
