Mark John Morley, of Shepparton, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to driving at a dangerous speed.
Prosecutor Senior Constable Nathan Marsh told the court a road safety speed camera recorded Morley driving at 157km/h on Echuca Rd, Mooroopna North, on June 26.
The camera was set up at the intersection with Lancaster-Mooroopna Rd.
The court heard he made full admissions to his offending when police later attended his address.
Representing himself in court, the father said nothing justified his speeding.
Magistrate Megan Casey told Morley he’d made a poor decision.
“When you’re doing that kind of speed ... it ends up in catastrophe,” she said.
Ms Casey fined Morley $800 and suspended him from driving for 12 months from August 23.
