The free community event follows the success of last year’s gathering and promises a festive day of creativity and connection.
The event, to be held on Saturday, November 15 from 10am to 2pm at the CWA Hall on Bridge St, will feature free craft classes with materials supplied, along with a craft stall and de-stash stall.
Attendees can also enjoy raffle prizes and a show-and-tell display showcasing members’ handmade creations.
Children will be able to participate in supervised craft activities, though parents must be present during these sessions.
Light lunch and refreshments will also be provided throughout the day.
Benalla Social Knitters organiser Alice Crichton said the event aimed to bring the community together during the festive season.
“It’s a wonderful way to bring people together, share skills and celebrate the joy of handmade crafts in the lead-up to Christmas,” Ms Crichton said.
“We want everyone in Benalla to have a spectacular tree this Christmas, so we hope lots of people come along and find some crafty inspiration for the festive season.”
The group thanked the Benalla Migrants Association and the Social Inclusion Action Group for their ongoing support.
Special recognition was given to organisers Michelle, Shirley, Theresa, Rhonda, Emma, and Alice for their participation in planning the event.
Entry is free and everyone is welcome. More information is available on the group’s Facebook event page at tinyurl.com/y27rh4rb
