Local school children and Yarrawonga Football Netball Club AWJFL squads will have the chance to partake in a meet and greet with Richmond players and coaches on the Tuesday night.
In exciting confidential news last week, the Yarrawonga Chronicle were told that the Richmond Football Club will be visiting Yarrawonga for a Community Camp this November, bringing players and coaching staff to the region for a multi-day camp of community engagement.

On Tuesday, November 25 and Wednesday, November 26, Richmond players will engage with local schools during the day before hosting an afternoon of activities at the JC Lowe Oval.
The initiative is designed to provide young footballers and fans with direct access to AFL talent, skills coaching, and a chance to learn from one of the league’s most celebrated clubs.
On the Tuesday a special Auskick clinic for all local junior players will be held after school before the YFNC AWJFL squads will have training sessions featuring Richmond players and coaches assisting with drills from 5.30pm – 6.30pm.
Richmond Tigers’ most experienced player, Nick Vlastuin with a young fan in Wangaratta earlier this year. The Tigers are heading to Yarrawonga later this month.
The night will conclude with a meet and greet with Richmond players and coaches after training.
In addition to the above, it is understood Richmond FC will also host an open training session on Wednesday, which is expected to draw local AFL supporters and Tigers fans from across the region.
The JC Lowe Oval, a facility that has been steadily upgraded with the support of many local businesses will become the focal point for this exciting community event.
It is the first time in several years that the Tigers have been in the region, last time holding a community camp in Wangaratta.
It is the first camp Yarrawonga has held for many years which is sure to provide excitement to local AFL fans in the hopes of their team travelling to Yarrawonga in the future.
AFL Victoria notes that this visit not only provides an opportunity for community engagement but also highlights the ongoing efforts of local stakeholders, including the JC Lowe Group, in supporting grassroots football and regional development.
