Now in its 14th year, the festival continues to grow, offering a welcoming space for people of all identities and backgrounds while celebrating diversity and inclusion across the region.
Hosted by GV Pride, Victoria’s premier regional LGBTIQA+ festival draws thousands to Shepparton each year. The 2025 program features 12 events, ranging from family-friendly gatherings to vibrant nightlife, providing opportunities to connect, celebrate, and explore queer culture in all its forms.
Highlights include Carnival Day at Queens Gardens with live entertainment, food trucks, and market stalls, drag bingo and performances at the GV Hotel and The Vault, inclusive workshops and conversations, as well as pool parties, BBQs, and portrait sessions celebrating the queer community of the Goulburn Valley.
“OUTintheOPEN is more than a festival — it’s a movement that uplifts and empowers our regional LGBTIQA+ communities. We’re proud to showcase Shepparton as a place where diversity thrives,” Festival Director Damien Stevens-Todd said.
Supported by the Greater Shepparton City Council, the Victoria State Government, and local businesses, the festival also aligns with efforts to promote inclusion and wellbeing for regional queer individuals.
