Seven days after McEwen Reserve Gold had trounced section one newcomers Murchison 8-53 to 1-20, Lemnos has defeated the round one winners by a near-identical thrashing, 8-48 to 1-28.
Lemnos had the bye in the opening week of competition and evidently the fresh legs made an impact early.
Thomas and Peter Jeffrey pipped Charlie Thomson and Justin Hunter 6-5 in the first rubber, kickstarting an untouchable streak where Lemnos would win the following seven sets.
Viv Jeffrey and Karen Ranson’s fourth rubber was the most emphatic of set victories, holding McEwen Reserve Gold to a blank games tally.
Leading eight rubbers to nil, Murray Akers and Kylie Reither would finally produce a set-winning performance for the Gold, and in dominant fashion too, taking out the ninth and final set 6-0.
Ultimately though, it was a dominant day for the men and women of Lemnos, shifting the club to second on the SDTA ladder.

McEwen Reserve Red has reversed the scoreline of its round one loss, defeating Murchison 7-51 to 2-25.
Murchison’s Thomas Caldrow and Jonathon Hare gave the Red an early test, winning the opening rubber 6-4, but from then on it was a match controlled by the home side.
Four sets won 6-0 or 6-1 by McEwen Reserve Red depicted its dominance, with Debbie Hosie and Sofia Stojanovski the pair that won its rubber without a blemish.
Following the win, McEwen Reserve Red remain in fourth but now a game clear of last place, where Murchison sit without a win yet this season.
Provided with four premiership points for the bye round, Shepparton North remains in first place, while McEwen Reserve Gold lowers to third, and will need to defeat the reigning champions in round three to reclaim its top two spot.
Even a win might not be enough to leapfrog Lemnos though, which faces Murchison in round three, while McEwen Reserve Red has the bye next weekend.
