Other office bearers elected were vice president Nola Pinnuck, and secretary/treasurer Penny Sloane.
In her president’s report, Ms Escott-Braybon reflected on a rewarding year for the branch.
“What a great year it has been for Murray Hut CWA.
“We’re fortunate to be a group of women who enjoy each other’s company and work so well together; it really makes everything run smoothly.”
Highlights of the past year included catering at the Finley Show, hosting the ever-popular Melbourne Cup Luncheon, and welcoming a large crowd to the Small Steps for Hannah presentation at the Finley RS Club in May.
The powerful session shared an important message about respect and healthy relationships.
In December, the branch proudly presented the STEM Scholarship to Year 12 student Alison Kleinschmidt, encouraging young people to explore learning through science and innovation.
“Much of what we do involves helping with community events, and it’s always rewarding to see people enjoying our food, friendship, and hospitality,” Ms Escott-Braybon said.
Looking ahead, planning is well underway for the 2025 Melbourne Cup Luncheon at the Finley Golf Club, an event that is always a highlight on the local calendar.
Guests can look forward to a fun-filled day with great food, prizes, raffles, and race day fashions.
Ms Escott-Braybon concluded by thanking all members for their time, effort, and enthusiasm throughout the year.
“Together we’ve achieved a lot, and I look forward to another year of working together, supporting others, and having a bit of fun along the way.”
