Israel Monga, 17, has signed a three-year scholarship contract at A-League club Adelaide United following an impressive debut senior season for the Orangemen.
The teenage fullback joined the Suns from Albury-Wodonga side Murray United for the 2025 Victorian Premier League Two campaign.
He featured 17 times for Craig Carley’s side as they narrowly missed out on promotion, playing well beyond his years in his first senior season at semi-professional level.
Monga was also selected in the National Talent Identification Program back in March.
Having now secured a foothold in a pro environment with Adelaide, Monga was overjoyed to be joining the Reds on a scholarship deal.
“I joined Adelaide United because I felt it was the right place for me to learn and grow,” Monga said.
“The club has a strong history of developing young players, and I believe this is the best environment for me. I’m very happy to be here and excited for the future.”
Adelaide United secured Monga’s signing alongside attacking threat Jake Najdovski, with the Reds’ technical director Ernest Faber backing the pair to take full advantage of their opportunities.
“Both Jake and Izzy have really good prospects,” he said.
“With their high intensity and the right mentality they have every chance to thrive at our club.
“We believe they can become important players for the club in the years ahead.”
Meanwhile, the Suns have been busy locking in coaching appointments for 2026.
Carley will return as senior men’s head coach for another year, with Rob Harmeston continuing his role as assistant.
In the under-23 ranks, Mohamed Fatelawi has stepped up to assume the role of head coach.
