The modular construction is set to significantly improve accessibility for all users, assisting those with diverse needs and challenges.
The upgrade came after Wanganui Oval received funding through the Victorian Government’s Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions Community Booster package, with local contractor JMB Modular Buildings Australia carrying out the project.
After recent lighting and irrigation upgrades at the venue, the modular construction adds further modern elevation to the sports ground’s facilities in the northern part of Shepparton.
Both team change rooms boast a spacious layout and have separate dedicated trainers rooms to promote injury management and athlete support, while umpires and match officials are also considered in the design with their own private change space.
City of Greater Shepparton Mayor Shane Sali lauded the addition of the fresh infrastructure.
“(The new modular facility) ensures that all users, including those with accessibility needs, have access to high-quality, modern amenities that support participation, comfort, and safety,” Sali said.
Councillor Steven Threlfall stated the new rooms would hopefully encourage a drive of participation numbers in northern Shepparton.
“It is great to see continued investment in the north of Shepparton, delivering real benefits to our growing community,” Threlfall said.
