An unblemished A-grade campaign continued with a commanding performance against finals aspirant Murchison-Toolamba, which started gallantly against an Eagles side in no mood to relinquish its winning streak.
The Eagles blazed away to a 63-29 victory at Central Park Reserve, with coach Erynn Hueston laying praise on the backcourt and midcourt rotation.
For the Shepparton East mentor, however, she said it all boiled down to a full-court effort as it strives to maintain consistency heading into finals.
“We're just trying to find some consistency heading into finals,” Hueston said.
“We’re just working on our own structures, our transitions, all those little things at the moment that we can control.
“It was a group effort, but in saying that, our defenders have been solid, we also had Kara Pattison play really well through the midcourt.
“We have our rotations with Kate Durling and Bec Rendina through there and they're all playing their role really well.
“I think the pleasing thing for us this season is we've got a lot of depth.”
Hueston said her side wouldn’t take the run home for granted, expecting tough assignments as other clubs jostle for a spot in finals, including Tallygaroopna which will be the Eagles’ next match-up.
“We're taking it week by week because you never know how the games are going to play out,” she said.
“We treat each game as if it's a final; it doesn't matter the opposition because anyone can turn up on the day and play really well.”
The Eagles remain two games clear atop the ladder as they seek to secure their second flag in three seasons.
Their primary challenger, Nagambie, responded to its defeat at the hands of the Eagles with a hard-fought 47-36 win over Rushworth, handing the Lakers some breathing room in second spot.
The top four looks reasonably settled with four games to play with Girgarre’s 55-17 triumph over Lancaster sending the Roos, as well as the Tigers, three games clear of fifth-placed Tallygaroopna.
In the race for finals, the Redlegs produced a pivotal win amid arguably a five-club run for the finish line, toppling Violet Town by 21 goals.
Avenel holds sixth with a game in hand, but hot on its tail is Merrigum, which jumped to seventh and a game shy of the Swans by toppling Stanhope by nine goals in a hard-fought clash.
