Shepparton United was making chess-level moves in Shepparton Junior Soccer Association on Saturday, cleaning up Numurkah Knights to keep pace at the top of the Open girls ladder.

The Blues shot out to a 3-0 victory at McEwen Reserve to sit joint level on points with Shepparton South, trailing the Southerners on goal difference alone.

South scored a perfect 10 against Shepparton City, winning 10-0 against the bottom-ranked side while boosting its differential to plus 51.

In the other game of the round, Tatura cleaned up Goulburn Valley Grammar to the tune of a 7-0 victory to break into the top four.
