To celebrate Portugal’s national day, Oporto is giving away 10,000 Portuguese flame-grilled chickens across its more than 200 restaurants in Australia.
Here’s how Shepparton residents can get their hands on one.
From noon on June 10, the Shepparton Oporto store will be giving away Portuguese flame-grilled chickens to the first 50 customers, with a limit of one per customer.
For those who miss out on the free feast, or are craving another Oporto classic, the Bondi Burger will also be available for $5 all day long.
“This is about more than just chicken,” Shepparton Oporto franchisee Bishoy Soliman said.
“Dia De Portugal, or Portugal Day, is a global event in Portuguese culture, and what better way to mark it than with our craveable, Portuguese flame-grilled chicken? It’s our way of bringing people together with food, flavour and generosity.”
The promotion honours Oporto’s heritage, which began in 1986 when Portuguese migrant António Cerqueira brought his flame-grilled chicken recipe to Australia.
The offer will be available in store only, excluding drive-through and delivery services.
Oporto is located at the corner of Archer St and Benalla Rd, Shepparton, next to the 7-Eleven.
Oporto is open seven days a week, from 9am to 10pm.
