Parent says his 14-year-old son was attacked at the siren of a Kyabram District League match

The player’s parent reached out to The News in relation to the incident, saying his son was “grabbed around throat and violently slung to ground” and that his “mental health is suffering because he’s worried he’s going to be attacked again on a football field”.

Kyabram District League president Peter Cordy was contacted for comment.

“We are aware of the incident that has taken place,” Cordy said.

“It is currently under independent investigation, so therefore until such time that we get the results of that independent investigation, we will be making no other comment other than we're aware of it and it's currently under investigation.”
