The community housing organisation operates in the Goulburn and Ovens Murray regions and provides a range of support to homeless people or those at risk of homelessness.
BeyondHousing chief executive Celia Adams said the organisation was grateful to Godolphin for contributing to its work moving people and families from homelessness and housing crisis into stable housing.
“Godolphin Australia’s generous donation will help us support people who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness, including the many people who have been affected by the coronavirus crisis,” Ms Adams said.
“With the increased pressures on the local community because of the COVID-19 pandemic, this support comes at a critical time.
“The funding will allow BeyondHousing to continue to deliver programs designed to assist people experiencing homelessness, disadvantage and housing crisis to secure appropriate crisis accommodation during the pandemic period and work with us toward a long-term housing pathway and live successfully in the community.”
The money was raised as part of Godolphin’s Winning Line Challenge, where Godolphin employees worldwide aimed to run, walk, swim, cycle or ride an ambitious total of 45,544 kilometres – the number of kilometres connecting Godolphin locations around the world - while raising money for charities and not-for-profit organisations that help vulnerable people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Godolphin Australia’s Northwood Park farm at Seymour chose BeyondHousing as its recipient.
Godolphin Australia Victorian general manager Andy Makiv handed over the $3000 cheque to Ms Adams at a presentation on September 22.
