Since the running of the Edward Kolety Fishing Challenge in February, the fishing has slowed a bit, I’d say mainly due to the slight increase in flow and the rise in water temperature.

That being said, however, there have been a few nice fish caught in the past few weeks.
Tim Rose is spending the hours on the water and has been rewarded for his efforts, landing some nice cod up to 83cm.
Both trolling and casting, with Coddog lures and Reaper Spinnerbaits his go to options.
Shannon and Hayden Martin, along with Allan Rowe, had a great day out on the river recently.
The trio managed to land a few from 40cm up to 65cm, and all fish were caught on bait, chicken, and cheese.
Mitch Thackeray tried his luck fishing with bait recently in the Colligen Creek using yabbies for bait.
Mitch caught six cod and one silver perch.
He said one of the cod had a full-size muscle inside its stomach.
“You could feel it,” he said.
Mitch also said he couldn’t believe how healthy all the fish were out that way. All fish were happily released.
Myself and Pat have had a good run landing some nice cod up to 80cm, mainly trolling the larger lures of 145mm around and targeting the deeper water of around 6m deep.
Dean Herberte had a fair crack recently.
He camped the night out near the Four Post Reserve and put in the hard yards and trolled up five smaller-sized cod.
On his return to camp, he managed to hook into a ripper.
This catch was one that he wouldn’t be living down any time soon.
Somehow, Dean had managed to put the trebles of his Jumbuck lure through to the top of his foot.
Not a sight for the faint-hearted, but doctor Dean took the pliers to his foot and removed the hooks without fuss - one could only say this was an amateur thing to do (haha).
Mark Lightning and Peter Youngman got onto a hot bite in one of the local channels and landed some cracking cod.
Pete the painter caught a solid fish of 93cm and seven other good cod that were up to 64cm, and a 48cm Yellowbelly.
Mark reeled in a monster 80cm carp, which took a liking to his Oargee lure.
Pete Wills hooked into a couple of cod in the Wakool River using grubs for bait, one going 60cm and the other 55cm.
He has also been on the Bong a bit, landing nice cod up to 65cm out there.
Brodie McQuie also spent the weekend on the Bong, landing some cracking cod up to 78cm out near Conargo.
He also managed a ripper on the surface near Four Post. The cod was about 85cm.
Justin Adair, along with a couple of others, landed 10 cod and other catches in a morning session.
A 54cm Yellowbelly and an 83cm cod were among the haul.
Dylan Bassett had a good session fishing from the bank in town, landing four nice cod up to 63cm.
Looking ahead, hopefully, the water levels will drop a little, and the same will happen with the water temperature.
This should turn the fish on, leading into the cooler months.
At the moment, most fish that are being caught seem to be in the shallower waters with a good current flowing through both for lure and bait fishing.
The best lures seem to be the 110mm Coddog loghopper. This lure is ideal for both casting and trolling.
