GV Health launches new initiative

GV Health has launched ‘GV Doctors’ – a new community for doctors across the Goulburn Valley.

By uniting medical professionals across the Goulburn Valley, the new initiative aims to enhance medical leadership development, supervision and support for medical staff in the region.

Specific objectives of the ‘GV Doctors’ community are to:

Grow the capability and capacity of doctors and non-medical clinicians, managers and executives to tackle critical strategic priorities and challenges together.
Bring clinicians and non-clinicians together from diverse professions and levels within the organisational hierarchy to work collaboratively.
Provide forums for executives, senior clinicians and non-clinicians to discuss current innovation in health leadership.
Share governance and relationships, team-based approaches, and inter-professional collaboration.

‘GV Doctors’ is spearheaded by GV Health’s chief medical officer, Professor Erwin Loh, who joined GV Health in January 2024.

“The initiative aligns directly with the recently launched GV Health Strategic Plan 2024-2026, which not only places emphasis on our workforce feeling supported, connected and empowered but also highlights partnerships and collaborations as enablers for improved health and wellbeing outcomes for people in the Goulburn Valley,” GV Health chief executive Matt Sharp said.

A series of activities are already under way and planned for the ‘GV Doctors’ initiative, including consultation with GV Health medical staff and the wider medical community, leadership development programs and enhanced opportunities for ‘GV Doctors’ to be involved in clinical research.
