The Devenish Dookie & District Good Friday Appeal has held its annual Barefoot Bowls night to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital.

On Thursday, March 7, about 100 people turned out at Dookie Bowls Club, where they enjoyed a barbecue meal provided by event sponsor Kevin Hicks Real Estate.

Raffles and auctions of donated items were held, with attendees snapping up Easter hampers, sporting memorabilia, garden ornaments, hay and wine.

Organisers made $4000, which they described as a fantastic result.

The night was a great catch-up for locals, with plenty of fun and banter.
