Transurban says its toll roads had their highest-ever traffic last quarter, with an average of 2.5 million motorists and truck drivers taking to its roadways in Australia and North America each day.

Traffic in both Sydney and Melbourne increased on the prior quarter despite construction impacting assets in both cities, Transurban announced on Thursday in advance of its annual general meeting in Melbourne.
Brisbane delivered its highest traffic performance to date, for both cars and large vehicles, and North America traffic also grew.
Traffic did fall for some individual assets, particularly the Lane Cove and Cross City tunnels in Sydney, where trips were down 4.9 and 4.2 per cent, respectively.
Transurban's overall average daily traffic of 2.5 million in the September quarter is up from 2.4 million in 2022/23.
The AGM is the final one for CEO Scott Charlton, who is replacing Geoff Culbert as Sydney Airport boss.
He'll be replaced by Michelle Jablko, previously Transurban's chief financial officer.
At 10.15am AEDT, Transurban shares were down 0.7 per cent to $12.22, on a dour day for the market.
