Freeway closed after rollover

The department of transport has recommended allowing an extra 30 minutes for Melbourne-bound travel.

The south-bound lanes of the Hume Freeway are closed between Seymour and Broadford, following the incident early this morning.

Motorists will be directed to leave the freeway at Seymour, and will then take Seymour-Tooborac Road through Tooborac, and the Northern Highway through Kilmore to return to the Hume Freeway.

The truck has been put back on its wheels, however and extensive clean-up is now underway, with a forklift being used to clear the truck’s lost load.

The closure is under the control of Victoria Police and the freeway will only re-open when it is safe to do so.
