Human remains found in two burnt-out cars in Sydney

Firefighters from the NSW Rural Fire Service put out the blaze before finding the remains inside.

Police have established a crime scene and the remains will be sent for forensic examination to determine the identity of the victim.

Just after 2.15am, police were called to North Parramatta and found another vehicle alight.

After extinguishing that blaze, firefighters found a body inside the hatchback.

It's unclear if the two events are connected.

Police will address the media later on Tuesday.
